In one of the fastest growing residential areas in the City of Philadelphia, Mara Restoration was asked to provide façade inspection services for this 11story, art deco style high rise located in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse neighborhood. Mara retained the services of a local engineering firm and assisted in hanging a swing stage to complete the City of Philadelphia’s requirements for façade inspections. Mara also installed new concrete blocks in the courtyard area, installed a concrete footer for the placement of a new outdoor clock at the corner of 19th and Lombard St.

While working closely with Bittenbender Construction, Mara Restoration created new openings in load bearing masonry walls for the installation of all new mechanical equipment. The tasks included working in confined space locations. Work was done while taking great care to minimize disturbances in this occupied building set in the heart of Philadelphia’s Historic Rittenhouse Square District.

Mara again was asked by Bittenbender Construction to assist them at another Rittenhouse Square building. We assisted in the renovation of the penthouse suite which consisted of a glass atrium. We installed new steel lintels in load bearing walls in the atrium so that new HVAC ductwork could be installed. In the kitchen area we rebuilt a large brick window opening so the new countertops were flush with the new window sill. All brick and mortar matched the existing façade when finished. We also created new openings at various locations throughout the façade of the building so that conduit/piping could be installed.
