Steamtown National Historic Site

Scranton, PA

Steamtown National Historic Site is a railroad museum and heritage railroad that sit on 62 acres in downtown Scranton, PA at the site of the former Scranton yards of the Delaware Lackawanna and Western Railroads (DL&W). The site is located within a working railroad yard and incorporates the surviving elements of the 1902 DL&W Scranton roundhouse and locomotive repair shops. Mara Restoration was awarded this project thru SJ Thomas Company who was the General Contractor on the job. Working with SJ Thomas and alongside of the National Parks Service and architectural and engineering firms located out of state, Mara Restoration completed tasks that included brick pointing and replacement, brick crack repairs, and CMU repairs and replacement without interruption to employees of the Parks Services.
